Project Suppliers Secures $1M Pre-Seed to Build AI Cash Flow Tools for Saudi Construction
As Saudi Arabia advances its ambitious Vision 2030 infrastructure pipeline, contractors face a persistent operational bottleneck: delayed payment cycles that choke liquidity. To address this gap, Riyadh-based construction technology startup Project Suppliers has secured SAR 3.75 million ($1 million) in pre-seed funding. The capital will fund the company's transition from a procurement marketplace into a provider of AI-driven financial and predictive cash flow tools.
Founded in 2020 by Hossam Gaber, Project Suppliers currently operates a digital platform that centralizes procurement for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) and construction sectors. The network hosts over 12,000 suppliers and contractors and has processed nearly 600,000 requests for quotations (RFQs).
Translating Procurement Data into Financial Intelligence
The startup plans to utilize its accrued transaction data to train artificial intelligence models capable of forecasting liquidity constraints. For construction firms operating on tight margins, a mismatch between upfront material costs and delayed project payouts often stifles growth.
Founder and CEO Hossam Gaber emphasized the necessity of solving these structural bottlenecks to support national development goals.
"The MEP supply and construction sector is a key backbone of major projects in Saudi Arabia under Vision 2030. However, the sector continues to face structural challenges related to cash flow management and delayed financial settlement cycles between contractors and suppliers," Gaber said.
Bridging the Supply Chain Gap
Construction procurement traditionally relies on fragmented systems, making it difficult for businesses to track cash pipelines or compare supplier terms efficiently. A subcontractor frequently pays for materials months before receiving compensation for the completed work. Project Suppliers targets this specific friction point.
The updated platform will focus on three core deliverables:
- Predictive Cash Flow Analytics: AI models to anticipate incoming liquidity and forecast capital shortfalls based on historical procurement data.
- Financing Solutions: Bridging products designed to ease the operational burden of delayed contractor payments.
- Centralized Procurement Tracking: A unified dashboard for supplier discovery, RFQ management, and streamlined operational reporting.
GCC Expansion Strategy
The pre-seed capital, sourced from an undisclosed group of angel investors, provides the runway to develop and test these financial products domestically. Once the predictive cash flow features are integrated into the Saudi platform, Project Suppliers plans to roll out its combined procurement and fintech offering across the broader Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market.
If the company successfully links procurement tracking with working capital management, it positions itself to solve a critical operational friction point for regional construction firms scaling to meet unprecedented infrastructure demand.
