Kuwait-based education technology startup Dawraty closed a $2 million seed round, bringing its valuation to $10 million. Qatar Development Bank participated in the financing, which the company will use to expand its AI-powered learning software across healthcare education, professional certification, and exam preparation.

Founded by Dr. Ryan Dougherty and Hamad AlThunayan, Dawraty builds digital infrastructure for institutional clients. Universities, medical colleges, hospital groups, training academies, and government bodies use the platform to deliver and track accredited coursework in both Arabic and English.

B2B Distribution Model

Dawraty operates on a strict business-to-business model. Instead of selling subscriptions to individual learners, the startup enters new markets by securing master partnerships and reseller agreements with established institutions.

The company generated its first institutional revenue in Qatar through a master partnership. Dawraty also signed a reseller agreement in September 2026 with the Qatar Finance and Business Academy, allowing the academy to distribute the learning platform to students and professionals in the local business sector.

Regional Footprint

Dawraty currently manages operations across Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan. The startup has secured several early institutional clients, including:

  • Kuwait University
  • University of Bahrain
  • Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance
  • Belvedere Group
  • Johns Hopkins (for continuing medical education)
