Egyptian e-commerce platform Fincart raises $2.8M to consolidate regional shipping logistics

Egyptian AI startup Fincart has raised $2.8 million in an oversubscribed seed round to consolidate shipping logistics, customer engagement, and financing for e-commerce merchants across the Middle East and Africa.

Launch Africa and Antler MENAP co-led the investment. Yango Ventures, Five35 Ventures, Bluestream Capital, Hi2 Global, and Kalahari Venture Labs also participated in the round.

Founded in 2023 by former Careem and Glovo executives Mostafa Masry and Nihal Ali, Fincart replaces fragmented software tools with a single operating system. The platform integrates more than 40 courier companies, allowing merchants to manage deliveries and access working capital from one dashboard.

Cash-on-delivery dominates online retail in Egypt and surrounding markets, creating cash flow delays and complex reconciliation processes for merchants. Fincart addresses this operational bottleneck by providing short-term cash advances based on sales performance while automating delivery tracking.

The startup has processed nearly EGP 1 billion ($20 million) in gross merchandise value since its inception. It currently serves over 450 merchants across the fashion, cosmetics, and electronics sectors.

The founders achieved this growth without spending any capital on marketing since their 2023 launch. Customer referrals account for nearly 40% of all new merchant acquisitions, proving the objective need for unified e-commerce software.

Fincart will use the fresh capital to expand its engineering teams, improve its artificial intelligence systems, and solidify its operations in Egypt. The company plans to expand into additional Middle Eastern and African markets beginning in 2027.
