UAE Geospatial AI Startup Stellaria Secures $6.8M Seed Round at $114M Valuation

UAE-based artificial intelligence and geospatial startup Stellaria, previously operating as Farmin, secured $6.8 million (AED 25 million) in Seed funding from a syndicate of angel investors. The transaction values the deep-tech firm at $114.4 million (AED 420 million).

Founded by Dr. Ali AlHammadi, Stellaria builds software that processes satellite imagery and geospatial data into precise analytical models. At the core of this software suite is Stella, a proprietary platform that combines artificial intelligence models with spatial workflows to interpret physical world activity.

Core Technical Capabilities

The company targets government, defense, maritime, and infrastructure industries by automating the analysis of complex orbital data. Stellaria's primary technical capabilities include:

  • Automated Target Recognition: Utilizing AI to identify and track specific ground assets from standard satellite feeds.
  • Super-Resolution Analytics: Enhancing the clarity and utility of low-resolution imagery.
  • Satellite-Derived Bathymetry: Measuring underwater depth and mapping coastal environments without physical sonar deployment.
"This funding marks an important milestone in Stellaria’s journey and reflects the confidence our investors have placed in our technology and the team behind it," said Dr. Ali AlHammadi, Founder and CEO of Stellaria. "We have grown from a UAE startup into a company building an AI operating system for geospatial intelligence, bringing together satellite data, AI and advanced analytics within a unified platform."

Scaling International Operations

Stellaria will allocate the capital to hire specialized engineering talent and accelerate the development of its core software. The leadership team intends to scale its spatial analysis tools beyond the UAE to compete directly in international defense and infrastructure networks.

The firm previously completed the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund’s Innovation Accelerator Programme, where it utilized institutional mentorship and strategic industry connections to refine its initial product architecture. Moving forward, Stellaria aims to establish the UAE as a central hub for globally relevant space and artificial intelligence technology, shifting the focus from basic data access to sophisticated, machine-driven interpretation.
