FlyAkeed Secures $25.15M to Build the Financial Operating System for Saudi Corporate Travel
Saudi travel technology platform FlyAkeed secured SAR 94.3 million ($25.15 million) in growth capital to aggressively expand its footprint in the Kingdom’s booming enterprise mobility sector. Announced at LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, the funding vehicle fuses conventional venture equity with Islamic debt, signaling a strategic evolution from a pure software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider to an embedded financial infrastructure layer.
Sanabil Investments, a wholly owned entity of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), led the equity tranche. Artal Capital spearheaded the Murabaha sukuk financing while participating in the equity round, alongside stc Group’s tali ventures and Aljazira Capital.
Pivoting from Software to Fintech
Founded in 2015, FlyAkeed built its initial traction by digitizing the fragmented, manual processes of corporate travel booking. Now, the company will deploy its fresh capital to scale an embedded deferred-payment offering for large-scale enterprises. By extending flexible settlement terms, FlyAkeed effectively embeds fintech directly into the travel procurement stack.
Large enterprises don’t just want better software; they want better payment terms. Now we give them both.
This strategic maneuver integrates FlyAkeed deeper into enterprise financial workflows. Instead of merely routing transactions between corporations and travel suppliers, the platform now dictates the mechanics of how and when those transactions settle, generating stronger commercial lock-in with high-expenditure clients.
Building the Enterprise Operating System
Corporate travel remains notoriously inefficient across the region. Legacy workflows rely heavily on disparate communication channels, rendering policy enforcement and expense reconciliation nearly impossible at scale. FlyAkeed consolidates these fractured processes into a single, unified digital layer.
The platform delivers critical operational capabilities for enterprise clients:
- Centralized Procurement: End-to-end booking for flights, hotels, and ground transportation within a single interface.
- Automated Compliance: Hard-coded travel policies that prevent out-of-bounds spending before booking occurs.
- Real-time Visibility: Dashboard analytics tracking every riyal spent across the organization.
Corporate travel in our region still runs on phone calls, WhatsApp groups, and spreadsheets. We are replacing that with an operating system: every trip inside policy, every riyal visible in real time, every approval in seconds.
Capitalizing on a $10 Billion Market
The capital injection arrives as Saudi Arabia’s enterprise economy scales rapidly. Domestic business travel expenditure surpassed $10 billion in 2024 and is projected to double by 2033. To capture this growth, corporations demand digital infrastructure capable of bridging procurement, human resources, and finance.
FlyAkeed currently manages corporate mobility for more than 150 enterprise clients, including heavyweight institutions such as PIF, Maaden, Golf Saudi, and the National Housing Company. With its newly expanded balance sheet and blended capital structure, the company possesses the institutional backing to transition from a transactional booking tool into the definitive financial operating system for Saudi business travel.
