MeetPure Events Builds a Values-Based Ticketing Platform to Bypass Algorithm-Driven Discovery

Zakir H. simply wanted to find local Muslim community gatherings during a work trip to Austin. Instead, Eventbrite recommended “Nightlife in Austin.” That disconnect pushed Zakir to build MeetPure Events, a platform designed to host and discover community gatherings without subjecting families and nonprofits to conflicting content. Initially conceived alongside his work on Prayers Connect, MeetPure now functions as a central operating system for the entire event lifecycle, bypassing the hidden costs and unwanted recommendations of mainstream ticketing giants.
Turning Flyers into Automated Event Pages
Instead of requiring organizers to manually enter data across dozens of fields, MeetPure lets users upload a standard promotional image. The platform’s AI reads the image, extracts the title, date, time, venue, and speaker roster, and instantly builds a structured event draft. Organizers run a quick review pass, cutting setup time from a half-hour to a few minutes. Beyond core ticketing, the platform centralizes critical workflows:
- Fundraising integration: Organizers process donations directly within the primary event flow.
- Granular permissions: Administrators assign specific roles to distributed volunteer teams.
- Project management: Teams track tasks and ownership on integrated planning boards.
The permission architecture solves a specific pain point for nonprofits running on volunteer labor.
An event organizer can give a volunteer permission to check in attendees without giving that person access to financial information,
notes Zakir.Betting on Zero Platform Fees
MeetPure abandoned the traditional ticketing business model. The platform charges organizers zero platform fees, relying entirely on optional attendee contributions to generate revenue. Early data validates the experiment: the average voluntary tip matches the mandatory fee the startup originally considered implementing. This structure allows cash-strapped charities and local organizers to retain maximum revenue while establishing trust with users who willingly fund the platform.
Designing Discovery Around Family Safety
Mainstream recommendation engines optimize for engagement, often surfacing events that clash with the principles of faith-based users. MeetPure addresses this at the architectural level. Events undergo human and AI-assisted review before hitting the platform’s discovery pages. The company actively blocks events that violate its family-friendly standards, ensuring inappropriate content never enters the discovery feed. Zakir built this structure so users can browse local gatherings without worrying about the content the platform will push toward their children.
Bootstrapping a $1.9 Million Ticket Volume
The six-person team has already processed 45,000 tickets, generating roughly $1.9 million in gross merchandise value. The platform indexes 44,000 events and maintains a Net Promoter Score of 83. Organizers consistently return for subsequent events, proving the software holds up against the high stakes of live check-ins and payment processing.
As MeetPure looks beyond the United States, Zakir plans to forgo remote, centralized rollouts. Instead, the company will expand into Canada, the United Kingdom, the GCC, and Europe through local partnerships. The company relies on regional operators to navigate the specific payment gateways, tax laws, and event practices required to win those markets.
